Student SenateThe Student Senate acts as the Legislative Division of the SGA. The Student Senate is granted authority under Article II Section 2 and Article IV Section 2 of the Constitution of the Student Government Association. The Student Senate is made up of both elected and appointed members. The Elected Members include: one representative from each class, one representative from each residence hall, four commuter representatives, and two representatives from the North Fulton Campus. The Appointed Members include: one representative from each officially recognized student club or organization, and any other members appointed by the SGA President in order to insure inclusive and fair representation. RepresentativesAll representatives of the Senate (unless appointed) are elected by the Student Body during the fourth week of the fall semester. The Senate will be composed of the following:
Senate MeetingsSenate meetings take place every Tuesday of each month and consist of the Executive Board and all members of the Senate, unless special meetings are called by the President. At these meetings, the Senate votes on any issues or legislation brought forth during previous Senate meetings. All elected and appointed representatives of the Senate have seat, voice, and vote; Student Organization Representatives have seat and voice. Student Body ParticipationAll Senate meetings are completely public, and any members of the Student Body or College community are welcome to attend.
