   The University Winds

Flint Hall, Falany Performing Arts Center

The Reinhardt University Winds is now under the direction of Dr. Daniel Kirk. With approximately 50 members, their sound is impressive and inspiring. With a repertoire varying from classic Sousa marches to Broadway Hits, these ensembles offer something for everyone to love. Reinhardt’s Winds has become well-known throughout the nation. Dr. Daniel Kirk is excited to join the Reinhardt University School of Performing Arts Faculty as Director of Instrumental Activities. He earned his Master of Music degree in wind conducting from Northwestern University (2015). He recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Conducting at Michigan State University where he was actively involved in teaching and assisting all aspects of the band program in the College of Music.

You can save up to three lives while on campus on Wednesday! Participate in the Red Cross Blood drive sponsored by Student Government Association. It is suggested that you reserve your donation time in advance. Register by visiting and entering the code REINHARDT.

   Powderpuff Football

This women’s only Powder Puff Football Tournament is going to be fun for everyone involved. Fall is football season, so Intramural Sports is offering a tournament for the women of the RU community. Flag Football is played using flags so that physical contact is avoided. This tournament will be a great way to exercise while having fun with friends playing America’s most popular sport.

   Bonfire & Pep Rally

Join us for the annual Bonfire and Pep Rally! The Screaming Eagles, SOAR, The Eagle along with Lady SOAR, the cheerleaders, and the football team will be on hand to get you fired up for the big game. Immediately following the Pep Rally there will be Bonfire with music, free food, games and so much more!

The first 250 students who check-in at the Bonfire will get a Homecoming 2017 T-shirt.


Saturday, October 7

Gym Parking Lot

Tailgating is rapidly becoming a Reinhardt tradition before the Eagles take the field. Spaces for tailgating are available on a first come, first served basis starting at 8:00 a.m. Groups may bring their own picnic items and food to the tailgate parking area. All groups are responsible for making sure their tailgating area is cleaned prior to departing for the game.

   Reinhardt Alumni Baseball Game

Join RU alumni baseball players for a fun reunion morning at Ken White Field, Reinhardt University, for the 2017 Reinhardt Alumni Baseball Game. Batting practice begins at 9 a.m. followed by the game at 10 a.m. At the conclusion of the game, everyone will join in the tailgating fun before the kickoff for the Homecoming 2017 football game.    Alumni Awards Ceremony Southern Chicken and Waffle Brunch

Join us for a Southern Chicken and Waffle Brunch complete with chicken tenders, waffles, southern-made grits, scrambled eggs, a fruit medley of cantaloupe, strawberries and blueberries, coffee and juices – all for only $10 per person. A brief program will honor the Golden Anniversary Class of 1968 (with special recognition of all our Golden Anniversary classes before 1968); the Silver Anniversary Class of 1993; and, our 2017-2018 Class of ’10 Under 10’ Alumni.

   Pre-Game Award Presentations

Prior to the start of the football game, the Student Government Association will recognize two individuals with the Captain A.M. Reinhardt Award and Jason Gamel Blue and Gold Spirit Award. The Captain A.M. Reinhardt is given by the Student Government Association recognizing an outstanding member of the RU staff who has demonstrated his or her devotion to the mission of Reinhardt University. The Jason Gamel Blue and Gold Spirit Award recognizes a faculty or staff member who best shows their pride for Reinhardt through athletic events, student activities, campus involvement and representation of Reinhardt spirit as Jason Gamel ’96 did during his time as a student and staff member at Reinhardt. The awards are nominated by the campus at large and then voted on by the Student Senate
