Arts-Humanities Alliance (AHA)Jym Davis (Advisor) Would you enjoy hiking through the woods to examine the ruins of a 19th-century iron furnace? Would you enjoy going to an art museum with other students to view masterpieces? Would you enjoy meeting with writers and other kinds of thinkers over refreshments? Would you like to hang with like-minded students and professors? If you have any interest in art, English, creative writing, history, religion, languages, philosophy, or liberal studies, please drop in. The club is open to students of all majors. History ClubDr. Kenneth Wheeler (Advisor) The History Club is a group of Reinhardt College students dedicated to the study of history. It is not limited to history majors. The club is committed to promoting historical awareness, establishing a spirit of friendship amongst members, and pursuing the interests of historically minded students through enlightenment fostered by lectures, historical excursions, and service. The History Club hopes to build a community, founded on common interests that will provide an enjoyable learning experience. Debate TeamDr. Kevin Crawford (Advisor) Our commitment to argument expresses our faith in giving reason as a key to that power, and our teaching seeks to expand students' appreciation for the place of argument and advocacy in shaping their worlds, and to prepare students through classrooms, forums, and competition for participation in their world through the power of expression. We promote critical analysis and investigative discourse on global and national economic, social, and political issues in a professional and ethical manner, and most importantly, we encourage training students to think critically, effectively research topics, and competently present convictions in a public forum. Philosophy ClubPhil Unger (Advisor) It is the goal of the Philosophy Club to better its members in philosophy of understanding of the world and beyond, under the exert supervision of a Reinhardt faculty member. Through the improvement of this understanding, members will be able to better apply the advanced concepts of the abstract and the concrete through observation and interpretation.
Reinhardt Organization of Student Educators (ROSE)Betty Miller (Advisor) An association allowing prospective educators to develop an understanding of the education profession and preparing students for careers in education. ROSE offers a number of service projects with area schools as well as professional development opportunities for the College’s education majors. Reinhardt Pre-Nursing ClubDr. Paige Sibley (Advisor)
The pre-nursing club is open to all Reinhardt College pre-nursing students, regardless of academic standing. It is our goal to support local and national health and volunteer organizations. We seek to be actively involved in volunteer and fundraising activities for worthy causes in our local community. We also promote knowledge about healthful living for the Reinhardt campus and the community. |
