A significant number of Reinhardt University students commute from off campus. The University has developed initiatives to ensure that off campus students get connected to life on campus. Reinhardt University provides a variety or special services and opportunities to students who commute to campus each day.
Commuter students have designated representation on the Student Government Association. Commuter students are also encouraged to participate in all campus clubs, organizations and activities.
The Commuter Lounge
Located on the lower level of the Lawson Academic Center, the Commuter Lounge is a designated place for commuting students. The Lounge offers tables, chairs, sofas, TV and much more. Also, check out the Hasty Student Life Center which houses the bookstore, couches, chairs, pool tables, and a big screen television.
Advocacy for Commuter Students
The Office of Student Activities brings the commuter perspective to University committees and campus programs. The office works to heighten campus sensitivity to commuter issues. Information about the best ways to reach and include commuters in programming can be made available to any campus organization by contacting the Office of Student Activities.
Students may bring any question or problem to the Commuter Students Advisory Council (CSAC); we will help - whether it is a simple one-step answer or a complex issue requiring further involvement. Our approach is proactive and collaborative.
Involvement & Activities
Some commuter students simply come to campus, attend class and then depart for jobs or home. Others become actively involved in one or more of the 30 student organizations recognized by the Student Government Association (SGA).
Commuting students may park in the lot across from the Burgess Administration Building and in the Falany Performing Art Center parking lot. All Reinhardt University students must have a parking decal. Parking decals may be obtained from the Reinhardt University Public Safety Office located on the lower level of Paul Jones Hall.
