“Time to SOAR”

The third weekend in October will be a special time for Reinhardt University. Alumni and friends are invited to the Waleska campus to join current students, faculty and staff for Homecoming 2013. Homecoming Weekend includes the Talent Show, Football Game, Alumni Reunions, Fall Festival, and much more.

We hope you will join us for a time of fun, fellowship and good food and remember to mark your calendars now!

Homecoming Week Schedule

Thursday, October 17

3 p.m. – 7 p.m.            “Spirit Night" at Waleska Farmers Market, Church of Christ Parking Lot

The Waleska Farmers Market is a convenient way for RU students, faculty, staff and community members to shop for fresh, healthy, locally-grown produce and sustainable products.

6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.   Women’s Volleyball vs. Point University, Brown Athletic Center

Come out and Cheer the Lady Eagles to victory as they take on the Skyhawks of Point University.

7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.     Southern Fried Jazz, Falany performing Arts Center

The Southern Fried Jazz Band revives New Orleans, Chicago and Midwestern-spawned numbers as it takes its audiences on a colorful journey that increases their understanding and appetite for live jazz and the important role it plays in America’s culture. From hot jazz to soulful blues, the Southern Fried Jazz Show blends music with the narration and anecdotes of leader/trumpet player Don Edwards. Friday, October 18

3:30 p.m.-4 p.m.               Pep Rally, Hasty Plaza

Let's cheer on our team for the homecoming game, with a Pep Rally on the Hasty Plaza. The Marching Eagles, “SOAR, The Eagle”, the cheerleaders, and the football team will be on hand to get you fired up for the big game. Students, don't forget to pick-up your official "Blue Out" the game Homecoming T-shirt at the Pep Rally so that the stands will be awash in blue for Saturday's football game against Belhaven University.

7 p.m.-9 p.m.               Student Talent Show, Falany performing Arts Center

Enjoy an evening of entertainment at the Student Talent Show! Whether your student performs or not, you are sure to take pleasure in this event. Because there is limited seating in the Concert Hall of the Falany Performing Arts Center, we recommend that you arrive early as seating is on a first come, first serve basis.


Saturday, October 19

9 a.m.-12 p.m.             RU Tailgating, Rollins Wellness Complex Parking Lot

Tailgating is rapidly becoming a Reinhardt tradition before the Eagles take the field. Nothing could be better than gathering with friends before home football games. Spaces are available on a first come, first served basis starting 4 hours prior to kick-off.  What is a tailgate without great food?  Groups may bring their own picnic items and food to the tailgate parking area. Tailgating is a vibrant and family friendly environment. Please be respectful of those surrounding you. All groups are responsible for making sure their tailgating area is cleaned prior to departing for the game.

10 a.m.-12 p.m.           The Class of 74, 75, 76 Reunion/Tailgate, Rollins Sports Complex Lawn

Please join your fellow Classmates from '74, '75, & '76 for this special event.  This will be a fun time to become reacquainted with old friends and make new ones. For more information visit

11 a.m.-11:30 a.m.      Eagle Walk, Rollins Sports Complex Lawn

Soak in the game day feeling as you join the Marching Eagle Band as they led the way from the Rollins Sports Complex to the Athletic Fields. The Eagle Walk takes place one hour before every home football game day. The Marching Eagles Band assembles at the lawn of the Rolllins Sports Complex and fans follow along as they walk to the field.

12 p.m.-3 p.m.            RU Football vs. Belhaven University, Athletic Fields

Come out and Cheer the Eagles to victory as they take on the Belhaven Blazers. During halftime, the 2013 Homecoming Court will be presentation and the Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned. Don't forget to "Blue Out" the game! RU Fans are encouraged to wear blue to show their Eagle Pride.

3 p.m.-6 p.m.               Fall Festival, Rollins Sports Complex Lawn

Not ready to go home after the game?  Join us for Music, Inflatable Attractions, Carnival Games and so much more!  Reinhardt students work hard; they also play hard. The Fall Festival offers Reinhardt students and their families fun-filled activities including music, carnival games, inflatable attractions, and more. Plenty of opportunities to frolic are in the offing for the young and young-at-heart alike.

9 p.m. -11 p.m.            Homecoming Concert & Dance, Bannister Glasshouse

The day’s activities will culminate with a rock’n concert and dance featuring “The Shadowboxers”, a pop-rock band which recently toured with the “Indigo Girls,” and a guest DJ playing all the latest tunes. So, come on out to this awesome event, hosted by the Student Activities Council. This is one event you don’t want to miss!
