Olivia Kieffer is a percussionist, composer, and educator from Wisconsin. Hailed as "A vibrant, energetic, and passionate!" musician, Olivia is an active performer and composer in Atlanta’s New Music scene. She performs with the Terminus Ensemble, Bent Frequency, the toy piano trio (tink tink tink), a sax/percussion/electronics duo Bonebreaker, and the 7-piece chamber rock group, Clibber Jones Ensemble. She joined the music faculty at Reinhardt University in 2009, where she teaches Applied Lessons and a variety of music classes, in addition to directing the Reinhardt University Percussion Ensemble. Ms. Kieffer earned a Bachelor of Music at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and a Master of Music at Georgia State University. She studied with Allen Otte of the Percussion Group Cincinnati, and with Stuart Gerber. She feels at home in both the classical and rock worlds, and can be heard on recordings by Amy O’Dell, the Georgia Brass Band, Tay0, GremlinsDuo, and Clibber Jones Ensemble. She works closely with composer William Susman. Her compositions are published through Living Creatures Press. She is also a consultant for Stringless Enterprises, LLC, and is on the Board of Directors at Eyedrum Music & Art Gallery. Olivia is published in Eyedrum Periodically, and her compositions and projects have been highlighted in ArtsAtl, TomTom Magazine, the Atlanta Creative Music podcast, the A/B Duo blog, New Music Conflagration, Music, Polyphony, and Polyrhythm, listening to ladies, Composer’s Circle, and WABE (90.1FM). Her compositions have been described as “honest, to the point, and joyful!”
