By Erika Neldner

Reinhardt University students dominated the competition March 3 when they hosted the Phi Beta Lambda North District competition.

PBL students from across North Georgia came to Reinhardt competing in Flint Hall at the Falany Performing Arts Center.

"Hosting the Phi Beta Lambda North District Competition was an enriching experience for our students and student officers. There was an excitement and energy on campus,” said Dr. Kathy Hyatt, dean of the McCamish School of Business. “We were honored to have business professionals from our community judge the students. Hosting a regional competition is a high impact practice, and it is an experience the students that were involved will not forget."

The following Reinhardt students competed and placed in the competition:

All of the students have secured a spot to compete at the state competition in Atlanta next month.

Community business leaders and Reinhardt faculty who assisted with judging include: Dr. Glynis Blackard, Lewis Cline, Enzo Fabbro, Sean Boggess, Beth Selby, Jennifer Wood, Ed Ferris, Evan Ingram, Kaylyn Petty, Lisa Houston, Nate Akins, Linda Breeden, Linda Coyle, Bob Anders, Ann Bolen, Dedre Brown, Dr. Dana Hall, Marie Baker, Carolyn Lewis, Lori Fink, Dr. Donald Wilson, Melissa Forrester and Amy Fernandez.

“It was a very long and tiring two days but we had the opportunity to showcase the campus of Reinhardt, the faculty and staff and, most importantly, our students who were gracious hosts, welcoming all of the competitors from the north district,” said Cindy Moss, PBL advisor. “We received nothing but praise from other advisors, judges and the state leadership of Phi Beta Lambda. Every student from Reinhardt placed in the top four and are now on their way to state competition in April in Atlanta.  We were extremely proud of them and the hard work they have put in to representing Reinhardt.”

Phi Beta Lambda is the collegiate division of the Future Business Leaders of America, a nonprofit national organization. PBL prepares students for careers in business and business-related fields.
