Cherokee Chamber hosts Leadership Symposium at Reinhardt University

By Erika Neldner

The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce hosted its inaugural Leadership Symposium Wednesday at Reinhardt University’s Flint Hall at Falany Performing Arts Center.

“The Chamber was excited to partner with Reinhardt University on this impactful one-day high energy event that provided opportunities for seasoned leaders to refocus while also allowing emerging leaders to better grasp their leadership potential,” said Pam Carnes, president and CEO of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce. “Continuous development of Cherokee County’s array of leaders – business, government, civic, cultural, faith based, etc. – is vital as this community works diligently to remain at the top of its game.

The event featured four speakers who shared thought provoking information to be used both on the job and in life. Speakers included: Chris Clark, President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce; Sharron Safford, Author and Trainer; Dr. Mark Roberts, Provost at Reinhardt University; and Randy Gravitt, Author and Leadership Coach.

An additional highlight was for attendees to hear from Reinhardt President Dr. Kina S. Mallard as the featured luncheon speaker.

“We are honored that the Chamber chose to host this event at Reinhardt University. It was a great day filled with leadership development, networking and connecting with friends in the community. I am sure everyone in attendance walked away empowered to lead their respective organizations.”

Additional sponsors, in conjunction with Reinhardt University, who made this event possible were State Farm Insurance – Jey Willis Agency, Cobb EMC, and Goshen Valley Foundation.  The event was also supported by Metz Catering, Reinhardt’s food service team.  The mission of the Cherokee County Chamber, a Georgia-certified Chamber of Commerce, is to promote business and the community while expanding the economy and enhancing the quality of life.
