Bachelor of Science in Political Science
Program Description
The
Bachelor of Science degree in political science provides students with an
understanding of government and politics through a combination of theoretical
and empirical analysis and practical experience. The program develops critical
thinking, analysis and communication skills through a combination of classroom
experience and internship opportunities designed to instill students with
firsthand experience and practical understanding of governmental policy and
practice.
Students are
prepared for an array of career options in the public and private sectors.
Graduates of the political science program may go on to administrative careers
with federal, state, and local governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations,
campaign management, diplomacy, teaching and many other career options. Political science majors are also
prepared to enter graduate study in political science, law, international
studies, public administration, urban planning, diplomacy or related subjects.
