Reinhardt College Hosts Giving Tree To Support Partner In Education R.M. Moore Elementary
As part of the Partners in Education relationship with R.M. Moore Elementary School, Reinhardt students, faculty and staff sponsored a "Giving Tree" this December. Edna Cook, the R. M. Moore Elementary School Counselor, investigated the specific needs of several families in the R. M. Moore community. These needs were listed on paper ornaments and hung on a tree in the President's lobby at Reinhardt. An invitation was extended to Reinhardt faculty and staff to volunteer to purchase these gifts for a local family.
"I didn't really know what to expect, but I was overwhelmed with the generosity of the Reinhardt family," Reinhardt Events Coordinator Ann Atchley said. "So many people were eager to be a part of the
project, and we all felt good to know that the gifts would be truly appreciated by someone in our own local community."
Mrs. Cook said she enjoyed delivering the gifts. "I really appreciate the effort Reinhardt made," Cook said. "These gifts really made a difference to the three families."
This effort was part of the ongoing Partners in Education relationship between Reinhardt and R.M. Moore. Other activities have included an ice cream social celebrating a successful Math-a-thon, sponsorship of the Fall Festival and advertisements in school publications.
