Alumni Invited to Celebrate Homecoming ’08 on
Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008
Catch the Eagle spirit during
Reinhardt’s Homecoming Day on February 16, 2008. The Alumni
Association at Reinhardt College invites alumni to return to
their alma mater to join in the Homecoming festivities.
“Homecoming has traditionally been one of our most popular
events,” explained Bill Popp, Reinhardt’s athletic director and
head baseball coach. “I expect that with the addition of our
alumni gatherings this year, it will be better than ever!”
Alumni Athletic Events
The day will get started with the Alumni
Basketball Game at 11 a.m. in the James & Sis Brown Athletic
Center. Former Eagles and Lady Eagles basketball players will
hit the court in head-to-head competitions. From the sidelines,
former Reinhardt cheerleaders will get the crowd going and cheer
for their teams.
Following the Alumni basketball games, the College’s Athletic
Department and Alumni Association will host a Reunion of Alumni
Athletes at 1 p.m. in the James & Sis Brown Athletic Center. The
gathering is open to alumni who participated in any
intercollegiate sport, including cheerleading and dance team, at
Reinhardt.
Reinhardt Athletic Events
The Reinhardt Eagles baseball team will take the field at noon
at the Jim & Syble Boring Sports Complex in a double-header
against the Voorhees College Tigers. The Lady Eagles softball
team will take on the Lady Bulldogs of Union College in a
double-header beginning at 1 p.m. Admission is free for all
baseball and softball games.
“Alumni are invited to come out and support the Lady Eagles
softball team as they get their season underway,” said DeeJay
Jackson, Reinhardt’s director of alumni relations.
The Reinhardt women and men’s basketball teams will then show
off their skills against the Running Hornets of Southern
Polytechnic State University. The Lady Eagles basketball team
will play at 2 p.m. in the James & Sis Brown Athletic Center,
followed by the Eagles basketball team at 4 p.m. The Reinhardt
Homecoming Court will be presented between games. Basketball
admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students (13-18), and
children under 12 and Reinhardt College students, faculty and
staff are free.
Reinhardt Class Reunions
Homecoming Day events for Alumni
will wrap-up with the Reunions for the Classes of ’83, ’88, ’93,
’98, and ’03 in the W. Frank & Evelyn J. Gordy Center from 6-
7:30 p.m. The cost is $8 per person which includes dinner.
“Connect and reminisce with your former Reinhardt classmates,
and learn about what your friends have been up to since their
college days,” said Jackson.
