The Most Reverend Wilton D. Gregory, archbishop of Atlanta, will visit Reinhardt College in Waleska, Ga. on October 22 to be a guest speaker at Real Deal, the College’s student-led worship service.
“Archbishop Wilton Gregory is an impressive man with a great talent for speaking effectively to young adults about moral issues,” said Dr. Wayne Glowka, dean of arts and humanities. “He was appointed by the Pope to be the working bishop for the North Georgia area, in which there may be as many as 650,000 Catholics. Beyond that, he oversees the bishops of Savannah, Charleston, Charlotte and Raleigh. He was President of the United States Conference of Bishops (2001-04), the first African-American to preside over a council of bishops.”
The service is open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. in the Bannister Glasshouse in Reinhardt’s Hasty Student Life Center. Archbishop Gregory was invited to Reinhardt by the Campus Catholics, a new student organization at Reinhardt, and their advisor, Glowka. Return to Previous Page
