Cinematography in the First Person: Award-Winning Film and Television Cinematographer Presents at Reinhardt College's Communication Colloquium on January 15, 2009
Join award-winning film and television cinematographer William "Bill" Wages, who specializes in shooting historical and action films, as he shares "Cinematography in the First Person" on January 15, 2009 at 2:45 p.m. in the Gordy Center Community Room on Reinhardt College's campus in Waleska, Ga. The event is hosted by the College's School of Communication Arts and Music and is open to the public.
Wages is an accomplished cinematographer and director of photography who has been involved with helping create Hollywood feature film releases and quality dramatic television programming for more than 20 years. His cinematography work for television includes dozens of episodes, series, films and mini-series such as "Big Love"; "Into the West"; "King Solomon's Mines"; "Buffalo Soldiers"; "I'll Fly Away"; and "Gore Vidal's Lincoln." Wages currently serves as director of photography for "Burn Notice" on The USA Network. He also directed a number of episodes on the TV series "The Magnificent Seven" from 1998-2000.
The feature films for which Wages directed cinematography include "Gods and Generals"; "Iron Will"; "Supercross"; "Wooly Boys"; "Down in the Delta"; "Love Potion #9"; and many others. He is currently working on three films with a Western theme.
Awards and Nominations
Wages was nominated for two Emmy Awards for "Into the West" in 2005 and "Buffalo Soldiers" in 1997. He won two American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Awards for "Buffalo Soldiers" in 1997 and "Riders of the Purple Sage" in 1996. He was also nominated for five other ASC Awards.
