Twenty-One Reinhardt Student-Athletes from Winter and Spring Sports Earn SSAC All-Academic Honors

Go Reinhardt Eagles!Twenty-one Reinhardt College student-athletes who compete in winter and spring sports were recently selected to their respective Southern States Athletic Conference All-Academic Teams. To qualify for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or better.

Men's and Women's Basketball
Reinhardt's men's basketball team, under head coach Jeffrey Pourchier, placed four players on the SSAC All-Academic Team, including senior Heath Hooper (Young Harris, Ga.), sophomore twins Aaron Darling and Adam Darling (Shady Shores, Texas), and sophomore Wes Jones (Ball Ground, Ga.).

The women's basketball squad, with head coach Amanda Clonts at the helm, also had four members earn all-academic recognition in senior Kathy Thornton (Woodstock, Ga.), sophomore twins Kelsey Galyon and Kinsey Galyon (Knoxville, Tenn.), and sophomore Michelle Tesina (Woodstock, Ga.).

Head coach Bill Popp's baseball club had five players make the all-academic list, including junior Brad Blalock (Grayson, Ga.), and sophomores Brett Flick (Marietta, Ga.), Ben Gonglach (Marietta, Ga.), Ryan McDowell (Kennesaw, Ga.) and Mitch Pittman (Monroe, Ga.).

Women's Tennis
Three of the seven members of the women's tennis team, under the direction of head coach Jennifer Sackman, were named SSAC All-Academic. Those players are junior Kasey Nichols (Marietta, Ga.), and sophomores Melissa Dowd (Woodstock, Ga.) and Stephanie Fuller (Douglasville, Ga.).  

In softball, head coach Glen Crawford's squad had two players garner all-academic honors in senior Casey Hollifield (Dallas, Ga.) and junior Alex Riccardi (Americus, Ga.).

Men's and Women's Golf
The men's and women's golf teams, under head coach Ken Dixon, had two and one member, respectively, receive all-academic accolades. Those golfers are junior Joe Liptak (Lemont, Ill.) and sophomore Chris Cartwright (Cartersville, Ga.) from the men's squad and senior Jesse Larson (Thomasville, Ga.) of the Lady Eagles.
