Reinhardt College women's basketball player Jemere McCurty has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her play from Jan. 11-17. It marks the first time McCurty has received the weekly conference honor.
McCurty, a 5-foot-7 senior guard from Carrollton, Ga., averaged 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game as Reinhardt went 2-1 last week. From three-point range, she shot a sizzling 13-of-24 (54.2 percent). Last Monday (Jan. 11) in a non-conference win over Tennessee Temple University, McCurty had game highs of 20 points and four steals off the bench. In Saturday's Appalachian Athletic Conference victory against Tennessee Wesleyan College, she scored a season- and game-best 25 points in 26 minutes.

Reinhardt is 9-8 overall and 3-3 in the AAC. The Lady Eagles are on the road to play a non-conference game against NCAA Division II North Greenville University on Monday. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Tigerville, S.C.Return to Previous Page
