Dianna Zima has been added to the Reinhardt College athletic department as the head men's and women's cross country coach, replacing Kevin Kelly. She will direct Reinhardt's intercollegiate cross country programs, which compete as part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).
"Reinhardt College is a very special place for me because my mother and sister both graduated from here," Zima said. "I just love Reinhardt. It's a great college and I'm happy to be a part of it."
Zima is an avid runner herself, participating in several local 5K and 15K races. In late May, she finished second in her age group at the 15K Mountain Ranger Run in Dahlonega, Ga., after winning her age group at the 5K Pancake Run in Jasper in December 2008. Originally from Pickens County (Ga.), Zima now resides in Waleska and works as a customer service representative with Morrison Products, Inc. in Canton, Ga.
After graduating from Pickens High School in Jasper, where she was a member of the girls basketball and cheerleading squads, Zima earned her bachelor's degree in management from Atlanta's Emory University in 1980.
