Reinhardt College men's soccer players Spencer Davidson and Zack Schultze have been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for their play from Sept. 14-20. It marks the first time Davidson has received a weekly conference honor while Schultze earned the recognition from the Southern States Athletic Conference on three occasions last season.
Reinhardt went 2-0 last week with a pair of 2-1 victories at home. Last Thursday, the Eagles defeated Oglethorpe University in a non-conference game before coming back to pick up an AAC win over Bluefield College on Saturday.
Davidson, a 5-foot-11 senior forward from Atlanta, scored game-winning goals in both contests last week. Against Oglethorpe, he snapped a 1-1 tie in the 80th minute and vs. Bluefield, he broke a 1-1 deadlock in the 86th minute. Despite missing Reinhardt's first match of the season, Davidson is one of the top scorers in the AAC with 11 points (three goals and five assists in five games).
A 6-foot-3 sophomore goalkeeper from Newnan, Ga., Schultze played 135 minutes in goal last week. In the conference victory over Bluefield, he played the full 90 minutes, making six saves. On the season, Schultze leads the Eagles with 13 saves.
Current Team Stats
