Caitlan Sumner, a junior, gives Andy White, son of Marsha White, Reinhardt's executive director of marketing and communications, some delicious candy during Reinhardt College's 2008 Community Halloween Trick-Or-Treat. This year's event will be on October 24 from 5-7 p.m. beginning in the College's Gordy Residence Hall.
Where the Wild Things Are, enchanted forests, and Hollywood are just a few popular themes the residence halls of Reinhardt will be decorated with in the spirit of Halloween for the College's annual Community Trick-or-Treat. On Saturday, October 24, from 5-7 p.m., the doors of Gordy, Roberts and Smith Johnston Residence Halls on Reinhardt's campus in Waleska, Ga. will open their doors for this special Halloween event. The tour of each unique hallway begins outside Gordy Residence Hall.
A "Magic" Experience
Shalyn "Shay" Hernandez, Reinhardt residence life coordinator and staff director for this event, invites everyone "for an evening of fun and magic for both the children and the Reinhardt students. The Community Trick or Treat unites Reinhardt students with a common purpose and gives them an opportunity to give back to the community."
Since her first year coordinating the event, she is still filled with awe and feels blessed to help plan this event. "The magnitude of the event does not register for me until I see the children and their families begin to arrive. I am enchanted by the superheroes and princesses who pour into the residence halls. The excitement of the children spreads quickly to the students and helpers, and the most vivid memory of the night is the fact that everyone is smiling and laughing. This is such a sweet Reinhardt experience, and I am excited to see the magic unfold again this year!"
