Reinhardt College baseball player Matt Carter has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for his play from April 12-18. It marks the first time Carter has earned the weekly conference honor.
Carter, a 5-foot-11, 215-pound senior right-hander from Canton, Ga., pitched in three games last week, all in relief, as Reinhardt went 4-1. In 6 1/3 innings of work, he did not allow an earned run while striking five and walking one. Carter recorded saves in two of the Eagles' three wins at the Covenant College Scots, his only saves of the year.
On the season, Carter has made 11 appearances with six starts. He has compiled a 1-2 record and 3.75 ERA with 23 strikeouts and six walks in 24 innings.
Reinhardt is 20-19 overall and 10-10 in the AAC. The Eagles play a non-conference game at the Toccoa Falls (Ga.) College Eagles on Tuesday at 3 p.m. Return to Previous Page
