Reinhardt College baseball player Josh Wilson has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for his play from April 19-25. It marks the first time Wilson has earned the weekly conference honor.
Wilson, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound sophomore left-hander from Marietta, Ga., pitched in two games last week as Reinhardt went 3-1. In 6 2/3 innings of work, he posted a 1-0 record and did not allow an earned run while striking three and walking two. In his only start, Wilson finished two outs short of a complete game in the Eagles' 4-2 AAC win over the Union College (Ky.) Bulldogs, who received 93 votes in the latest NAIA poll to rank 29th nationally.
On the season, Wilson has made 14 appearances with six starts. He has compiled a 4-2 record and a 4.63 ERA in 46 2/3 innings.
Reinhardt is 23-20 overall and 11-11 in the AAC. The Eagles host the Truett-McConnell College Bears, a non-conference opponent, in their annual Senior Day game on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
