The Faces of Reinhardt: Meet Clara Chambers!

Job title: Housekeeper.

What I really do: Clean the gym, museum, apartment classrooms, feature art, President's house, student center, Gordy House, Smith-Johnston and Roberts residence halls.

Years at Reinhardt: 34.

I was born in: Waleska, Ga.

I came to Reinhardt because: I went to elementary and high school there and always wanted to work there too!

One thing I would change about Reinhardt: Build a building big enough for graduation.

People describe me as: Full of energy and always smiling.

Most colleagues don't know that: I played basketball at Reinhardt.

Favorite things to do: Spend time with my family.

Favorite quote: We got to get-r-done!

Proudest accomplishment so far: Being able to work at Reinhardt with my late husband Wheeler Chambers for 30 years. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary July 30, 2005.

Pet peeve: Lazy people.

Best advice ever received:  My daddy always told me if I was going to do something, to do it the best that I could.

Best advice for new faculty and staff: Take time for the students.

The book everyone should read: Bible.

The movie everyone should watch: I don't watch movies; I can't sit still!

The person dead or alive I'd most like to meet: John Wayne.

The place I'd love to travel to: I like to stay close to home.

Although you didn't ask, I'd like to tell you anyway: Reinhardt is like a second home to me.
