Reinhardt University women's basketball player Kinsey Galyon was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her play from Dec. 6-12, 2010. It marks the first time Galyon has earned the weekly conference honor.
Galyon, a 6-foot senior forward and sports administration major from Knoxville, Tenn., led Reinhardt to its fifth straight win last week, a 78-74 victory over Shorter University, which is ranked 21st nationally in NAIA Division I. In the Lady Eagles' only contest last week, she came off the bench to record game highs of 28 points and 14 rebounds (also a career best). Galyon shot 56.3 percent (9-of-16) from the field and 76.9 percent (10-of-13) from the free throw line. She also had two steals in Reinhardt's upset win.
On the season, Galyon has played in all 13 games and leads the Lady Eagles in scoring (14.4 points per contest), total points (187) and offensive rebounds (20). She is also averaging 5.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals an outing while shooting 48.4 percent (77-of-159) from the floor and 80.5 percent (33-of-41) from the foul line.
