The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the 156-player field for the 60th Annual NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship tournament, and Reinhardt University’s Zach Lindsey received one of just two individual at-large bids for the event. Lindsey, a sophomore from Kennesaw, Ga., is making a return trip to the NAIA nationals after Reinhardt qualified as a team last year.
Held from Tuesday, May 24 through Friday, May 27 at the TPC Deere Run course in Silvis, Ill., the tournament includes 29 squads and an additional 11 individual participants.
Lindsey, who has twice earned All-Appalachian Athletic Conference honors, ranks second nationally in the NAIA with a scoring average of 71.77. He has played in all 10 events, covering 22 rounds, for the Eagles in 2010-11 with his worst finish being 13th place. This season, Lindsey has ended in the top five seven times with one tournament title. Six of his rounds were played under par and another six at even par.
Reinhardt, as a team, just missed a repeat appearance at the NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship. The Eagles received 44 points in the final NAIA poll to rank No. 30 in the nation.
