William “Billy” Hayes, a resident of Canton, Ga., began a new role as an active member of the Reinhardt University Board of Trustees. He was nominated and approved as a full board member by the Board in late September, 2011, and he will be confirmed as a member by the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church in mid-June, 2012.
As CEO of Northside Hospital – Cherokee in Canton, Ga., Hayes’ involvement in professional activities is extensive. He is a member of the Cherokee County Chamber Board of Directors, vice chair of the Kennesaw State University Alumni Association and member of the Coles College of Business Advisory Board. He serves on the Board of Directors for the First United Community Bank and is chairman of the Board of Directors and a Finance Committee member at Highland Rivers. Hayes is also a member of the Georgia Hospital Association and Georgia Health Care Association.
Hayes reaches out to his local community by serving as the president of the Board of Directors and as the chairman of the Executive Committee at the Boys and Girls Club. He is on the Region 1 EMS Council and is an honorary member of the Cherokee County Rotary.
Hayes earned bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Jacksonville State University and an executive masters of business administration from Kennesaw State University. He and his wife, Brittany, have five children: Bailey, Bryson, Kaylee, Mark and Andrea. They attend Canton First United Methodist Church.
