Community members are invited to see “Naturally Sharp,” the Reinhardt Collegiate Chapter of Music Teachers National Association, perform a variety show of original musical comedy, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the Falany Performing Arts Center on Reinhardt’s campus in Waleska, Ga. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under, and the proceeds will help fund the group’s professional activities, service and community projects.
Susan Naylor, advisor for the Reinhardt Chapter and an associate professor of music, describes the show as “good, clean entertainment for the whole family. It’s a fun way to reach out to the community, to showcase our incredibly talented students, and to raise funds to support their activities.”
Students have key leaderships roles in this production. Kellie Richardson, a senior from Kennesaw, Ga., and Marjorie Saviano, a senior from Acworth, Ga., both music performance majors and co-presidents of “Naturally Sharp,” are directing this year’s show, and Justin Filson, a sophomore music education major from Acworth, Ga., will emcee the evening. Other performers include “Naturally Sharp” members: Tirzah Carroll, Heather Davis, Trent Futch, Kanisha Howard, Rachel Kay, Katie Kemp, Stephanie Kinney, Jessica Lewis, LeeAnn Moore, Holly Nash, David Richards, and Erika Szatmary.
The show consists of ten acts. Included in the line-up will be FPAC’s Got Talent; Diction Class; Misfits Master Class; Piano Studio Class; Itsy-Bitsy, Teeny-Weeny; As a Man Thinketh; Procrastination at the FPAC; Don’t Look at Your Hands; and a couple of surprise acts.
