Reinhardt University Baccalaureate & Commencement 2015
To participate in commencement, you must apply for graduation by April 2, 2015 and all degree requirements, including satisfaction of student financial obligations to the University, must be met by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015. If you have questions regarding your financial obligations, please contact the Business Office at 770-720-5520.
Special Note: Students who have submitted an application to graduate and have courses to complete during summer semester 2015
must petition to participate in the May 2nd, 2015 commencement ceremony. You must be registered for all courses remaining to meet degree requirements and all financial obligations for the summer classes must be satisfied upon submitting a petition. The form required to petition to participate may be obtained from the Office of the Registrar and must be completed and returned to the Registrar’s Office by Monday, April 6, 2015.

Business Etiquette Dinner for the Senior Class of 2015
• Thursday, March 19th - Business Etiquette Dinner for the Senior Class of 2015 at the Hasty Student Life Center, Bannister Glasshouse, Waleska Campus, 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Although the rules of business are ever changing, good manners and etiquette never go out of style! The Alumni Office and the Office of Career and Professional Development Services are pleased to invite the Senior Class for a fun, informative, and engaging dinner. No matter what field you are pursuing, basic business etiquette will be a valuable tool. Instructor Evelyn Matthews from The Etiquette Company will be our guest speaker for the evening. She will walk you through a “meet & greet,” share thoughts on how and when to present your business card, how to make proper introductions, dining etiquette, and what is appropriate business attire in today's workplace. Local business leaders will attend and provide networking opportunities. Seniors in attendance will receive 20 customized business cards and a professional RU business card holder compliments of the Alumni & Career Services Offices.

Regalia, Commencement Ceremony, Ticket Orders and Honor Cords Pick Up
• Caps & Gowns and Suggested Attire:
Commencement regalia are provided at no additional cost. The Reinhardt Bookstore coordinates orders and distribution of regalia. You should place an order for regalia on-line at
no later than Monday, March 16, 2015 to ensure timely delivery. Cap and gown orders specifying distribution at the Waleska campus will be handed out from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. from Monday, April 20th – Friday, May 1st in the Reinhardt University Bookstore (bottom floor of the Hasty Student Life Center). You will wear only the gown for baccalaureate and both the cap and gown for commencement. If you are a male, we suggest that you wear a dress shirt and tie, black or navy blue pants and dress shoes under your graduation gown. If you are a female, please wear a dark skirt, dress or pants and dress shoes. Caps and gowns will not be handed out at baccalaureate or commencement so please make plans to pick up your regalia during the dates/times listed above.
• Commencement Tickets:
Because commencement seating is strictly limited by city ordinances regarding building capacity, all guests including infants and children must have a ticket to attend. Each graduate is eligible to receive up to five guest tickets. A graduate must submit an order form to the main campus Registrar’s Office by Thursday, April 2nd at 5 p.m. in order to secure tickets. Orders will not be accepted after April 2nd. Ticket orders may be submitted by returning the enclosed order form to the Registrar’s Office via mail or fax or online at
Ticket orders can be picked up at the Registrar’s Office beginning Tuesday, April 7th until Thursday, April 30th at 5:00 p.m. Orders requested to be mailed will be mailed on Tuesday, April 14th to the address provided on the order form.
*Note: Graduates are strongly encouraged to pick up their tickets in-person as we will not have enough tickets to replace tickets lost in the mail. *Due to the increased number of graduates, no additional tickets will be distributed.
Personalized commencement announcements may be ordered through the same website as regalia mentioned above.
• Honor cords:
For the commencement ceremony, Summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude honors will be determined by the student’s overall cumulative grade-point average (GPA), including course work attempted prior to enrolling at Reinhardt, at the end of Spring 2015 Session I grade processing. Graduates receiving Latin Honors will be notified by letter. Honor cords will be distributed by the Registrar’s Office from April 20th – April 30th.

Please line up by 6 p.m. in room 111 in graduation gowns without caps. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, May 2, 2015 - James and Sis Brown Athletic Center on the Waleska Campus
• Commencement Processional:
Line-up will begin in the lower gym of the Brown P. E. Building promptly at 8:30 a.m. You will march in and sit alphabetically with your school—McCamish School of Business, Price School of Education, School of Arts & Humanities, School of Performing Arts, School of Mathematics and Sciences, and School of Professional Studies.
• Guest admission to the commencement area:
To enter the ceremony, each of your guests must have a ticket (see related section above). Please advise your guests to arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. to allow time for seating prior to the start of the ceremony. Commencement will begin at 9:30 a.m. *Note: The ceremony will be available for viewing via the internet at
Overflow seating is also available in the Bannister Glasshouse, Hasty Student Life Center, on the Waleska campus. Tickets are not required for overflow seating.
Reinhardt’s Office of Public Safety and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office will assist with parking and traffic flow. Graduating students should park in the Funk Heritage Center and East Hall lots. Your guests may park in any available parking space on campus with exception of designated handicap spaces, fire lanes, and the gym parking lot which is reserved. Space is limited, so please encourage carpooling.
• Handicapped/Disabled parking:
If you or your guest(s) currently have a state-approved handicapped parking pass, you will not need an additional one from Reinhardt University.
If you or your guest(s) need this accommodation but do not already possess a state-approved pass, please submit a completed “Handicapped/Disabled Parking Form” to the Office of Public Safety by Monday, April 6, 2015. These forms are available from the Office of Public Safety (lower-level of the East Apartment Building). In the case of extended campus students who need to request a handicapped parking pass, please send an e-mail from your Reinhardt e-mail account to Captain Richard Ford in the Office of Public Safety at REF@reinhardt.edu. Please include:
- your name,
- student ID number,
- reason for request,
- description of the vehicle,
- physical address to which the pass can be mailed.
- Requested handicapped parking passes will be mailed by Friday, April 17, 2015.
