Reinhardt College’s artist-in-residence, Dr. George Lucktenberg
will be joined by Susan Naylor on piano, Nan Maddox on cello and
Nancy Schechter and Lisa Morrison on violin in a concert of
music by composers from Eastern Europe. Lucktenberg, who is
Artist-in-Residence at Reinhardt College, continues to bring his
celebrated talent to the Falany stage. The concert is present as
part of the College’s Celebration of a “Year of Eastern Europe
and Russia.”
Lucktenberg, Maddox, Morrison and Schechter will open the
program with the first, fourth and fifth movements of Bagatelles
by Antonin Dvorak, a Bohemian composer. This will be followed by
Three Slavonic Dances by the same composer, performed by Naylor
and Lucktenberg.
Naylor and Lucktenberg will then present Variations by Polish
composer Witold Lutoslawski. Both will play concert grand pianos
for these selection.
The
program will continue with Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Pärt
(Latvian) and Six Rumanian Folk Dances by Bela Bartók, a
Hungarian, performed by Schechter and Lucktenberg.
