Application Process

Thank you for your interest in applying to the Reinhardt College Eulene Holmes Murray Department of Music. As a prospective music major or minor, you need to follow the steps below to be considered for admittance into the department.

Please read all information regarding the application and audition process prior to submitting materials.

Step 1: Apply to Reinhardt College

You must apply to BOTH Reinhardt College and the Music Department.

The first step in the application process is to apply to Reinhardt College. Please apply online or request an application online. You are urged to complete this process as soon as possible the year before your proposed entrance. Early application is strongly advised because of enrollment limitations and financial aid deadlines.

Be prepared to provide the following along with your college application:

  • Official copies of High School transcripts (or GED)
  • Official copies of SAT or Act score

  • For students transferring from another institution - You must submit an Official Transcript from every college or university you have attended.

Step 2: Apply to the Eulene Holmes Murray Department of Music

You must apply to BOTH Reinhardt College and the Music Department.

The second step in the application process is to apply to the Music Department. Music Department application materials must be submitted directly to the School of Communication Arts and Music. Please review ALL information carefully. Errors in submission of your materials may delay the review of your application for admission and scholarship.

Music Department Application Requirements
All application materials must be received prior to the requested audition date and in completion before an audition will be scheduled.

Be prepared to provide the following along with your School of Music application:

  • Letters of recommendation: Two (2) confidential letters of recommendation must either be submitted with the application or sent directly by the recommended. At least one of the letters must be from a music teacher.

Step 3: Audition

Auditions are required for all prospective music majors. The audition is performed for members of the music faculty. Evaluations are based on technical and musical proficiency. Schedule a performance audition with Dr. McIntire at 770-720-9221 or dkm@Reinhardt.edu.
