Profile
Dr. Bobby Epling serves as Department Chair of Physical Education (PED) and Coordinator of the Sport Studies degree program.  His research and professional interests are in sports history, big-time college football, and sports journalism.  Dr. Epling is a member of the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and during college football season writes three weekly columns focusing on the SEC and national college football news for Gameday Weekly.  Dr. Epling most enjoys spending time with his wife and son, traveling, and being at the ocean.  He holds B.S. and M. Ed. degrees from the University of Georgia, and a Ph.D. in socio-cultural aspects of sport from the University of Tennessee.  Before going into higher education, he was a teacher and coach in Georgia public schools.
