Dr. Chisholm’s philosophy of education evolves and grows as time is spent in the field with students. The basis of her philosophy is embedded in the reason she first began teaching: to promote of desire of lifelong learning.

"Working with students across all grade levels has been a significant part of my life for many, many years.  One of life's greatest joys is to see that you have made a positive difference in the life of one whom you have taught.  Through teaching in the public school sector and in college, I have gleaned immense knowledge from students.  Students have provided meaning to the different horizons of life, and I look forward to the continuation of that process for years to come.

Part of my philosophy of teaching emanates from one of Einstein's quotes:  "Each of us is a genius.  But if we judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life thinking it is stupid".  The second saying that guides my philosophical outlook on teaching includes these words:  "Years from now, students may not remember what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel".  Both are posted outside my office door." - Dr. Chisholm
