A native of Augusta, Georgia, Mellanie Robinson earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from The University of Georgia, a master's degree in Education from Fort Valley State University, and a doctoral degree in the area of Child and Youth Studies from Nova Southeastern University. For over a decade, Dr. Robinson has taught numerous subjects to students at the elementary and middle grades levels.
Currently, Dr. Robinson is an Assistant Professor in the Price School of Education and she teaches a DATA course in Social Studies/Language Arts, Lifespan Development from a Multicultural Perspective, and graduate courses in Reading in the Master of Arts in Teaching Program. In addition, Dr. Robinson also supervises pre-service teachers in the field component stage of DATA and student teaching.
Her professional interests include K-8 Reading instruction, differentiation strategies, and interdisciplinary instruction.
Dr. Robinson is married and has a son named Myles.
