Why did you choose to go into nursing? and specifically the program at Reinhardt?
I chose to go into nursing because I felt like it was what God wanted me to do. I want to be a missionary and I feel as though nursing is a universal trade that I can use all over the world.
I chose Reinhardt for many different reasons; The main reason was because my parents lived close so we could save money and I could live at home. Also, when I came for my first tour I absolutely fell in love with the campus and the people around. At Reinhardt I got involved REALLY fast. I was an Orientation Leader for two years; One of three Campus Ministry Interns; Chief of Staff for the SGA; Resident Assistant; and one of four Summer Camp Coordinators...and this was all in a 2 1/2 years time.
Describe your experiences as a student in Reinhardt's Pre-Nursing program. How did the professors and classes prepare you for nursing school?
I enjoyed Reinhardt's pre-nursing program. I made great friends through the program, one of which is actually my roommate here at LaGrange. We are both going through the nursing program here together.
The professors at Reinhardt taught me how to be assertive, which has helped me tremendously while in nursing school. They also gave me great encouragement throughout the program, continuing to challenge me to be a better student.
What would you tell a prospective student who is considering the Pre-Nursing program at Reinhardt?
Words of wisdom for going into the pre-nursing program or any nursing program in general: It's hard; I'm not going to lie. In the end, however, it will be so incredibly worth all the hard work. If nursing is the profession in which you REALLY want to be, then stay strong and don't give up. These past few years have been the hardest but the best years, and I wouldn't trade them for anything. :-)
