Associate of Science (A.S.) in Pre-Nursing
Do you enjoy helping others? Is the medical environment interesting to you? Do you enjoy being on your toes constantly, with a new challenge everyday?
The Associate of Science (A.S.) in Pre-Nursing program at Reinhardt provides you with the knowledge and skill set needed to be successful in a Bachelor's Degree program at a variety of nursing institutions.
Steps to Your Success The Reinhardt College Pre-Nursing program is designed as the first step in working towards earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree.
- Once you complete the academic core and nursing basics from Reinhardt, you will receive your Associate of Science (A.S.) degree.
- You can then continue on to earn your B.S.N. degree at one of the several highly-esteemed Georgia nursing institutions with which Reinhardt has an articulation agreement.
- Upon graduating from one of these programs and successfully completing the NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination), you can receive licensure as an A.S., B.S.N. and R.N.
Interactive Classes As a nurse, your knowledgeable support is invaluable to the physician you work with. Courses in the Reinhardt Pre-Nursing program will engage, challenge and prepare you for such great responsibility.
"Studying Pre-Nursing is like learning another language," explained Dr. Paige Sibley, M.D., assistant professor of biology. "We keep the classes interactive and interesting because students learn better that way."
Unique Projects Outside of Class The Pre-Nursing program also encourages students to get involved in the community. Planned activities for Pre-Nursing majors include: volunteering with a local community for at-risk youth and working with girl's clubs as interest group leaders, activity guests, and in helping the girls earn their first aid badges.
Do you want to make a difference in someone's life? The Pre-Nursing program at Reinhardt gives you the building blocks for a successful future in nursing. For more information, contact Dr. Eddie Robertson, professor of biology and biology program coordinator, at EBR@reinhardt.edu or 770-720-5593.
