Why Study Music at Reinhardt College?
You
can do these things with a music
degree from Reinhardt College.
|

“I’ve loved [being a music education major]. I can’t
tell you how much I have learned from my professors.
I’ve learned libraries of stuff... I had never done
anything but sing and play the piano before I got
here, and now I’m doing all this. It’s great
preparation for teaching K-12... Plus when I go
observe, I see things they have told me, and I know
I can apply what I’ve learned.” -- Jennie Blevins

Why
is Reinhardt's Eulene Holmes Murray Department of Music for
You? You'll Enjoy:
-
Chances
to Learn - you will learn to play
different instruments, sing, write music and
understand music theory.
-
Immediate
Opportunities - as a freshman or a transfer,
you can jump right in; you don't have to wait
behind older students for "your turn";

Time to Take Center
Stage or Perform
with Others - Be part of the 20% of
Reinhardt's student body which sings or plays an
instrument in one of Reinhardt many

give a recital at the
junior or senior level,
while freshmen and sophomores perform a
selection or two at a mid-semester or end of the
semester recital;
-
A family
atmosphere and mentoring - as a music major,
you will work closely with professors and
students both outside and inside class.
The Falany Performing Arts
Center, FPAC, will truly become your home away
from home. You'll learn as much in conversation
and in
practice as you do in the classroom;
-
One-of-a-Kind
facilities - The Falany Performing Arts
Center provides an exceptional backdrop for
learning, practicing and performing;
-
Expert Faculty - Four doctorates in music
education, one past president of the Georgia
Music Educators Association, one past president
of the Georgia Music Teachers Association, and a
past president of the National Band Director’s
Association. Also our faculty include Dove and Grammy Award nominees
and winners, and two who vote for the Grammys
each year.
How Large is the Murray Department of Music?
300 students take music classes a year, including 70
