Area Coordinator

Reinhardt University is seeking an experienced Area Coordinator to add to our staff on our main campus in Waleska, GA. The Area Coordinator will report directly to the Assistant Dean of Students.

Position Summary: The Student Affairs team at Reinhardt is committed in supporting the mission of the University, which aims to develop the intellectual, social, personal, vocational, spiritual, and physical dimensions of its student body.  The Office of Housing and Residential Education views the aforementioned as a unique opportunity to build a vibrant living-learning community, one in which we connect the in-and-out-of-classroom experience to the residential experience.  Thus, empowering our residential students to be life-long learners.  As such, we are seeking dynamic Area Coordinators (Master's Level) who will foster student relationships, connect students with faculty, employ a curricular approach to teaching and learning in the Residence Halls, and develop an inclusive and welcoming community.

The Area Coordinator is a 12-month live-in position reporting to the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Housing & Residential Education.  The AC (s) will be responsible for the overall operation of an assigned area of 2-5 residence halls or 2 apartment communities.  The AC (s) provides supervision and leadership to the RA Staff, which includes on-going training and development throughout the year.  Of importance, the AC (s) will implement area-specific residential curriculum plans, maintain operations, serve on-call, adjudicate student conduct via a restorative approach, serve on University-wide committees, and teach at least one First Year Seminar course per semester.  The ultimate goal of this position is to facilitate and maintain a unique Reinhardt experience where each of our residential students thrives.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements of the Job: Must be able to routinely lift 20lbs. and walk between buildings, and climb stairs on a routine basis. This position takes place in a general office and campus environment, but may require some off-campus travel to attend meetings and to fulfill other responsibilities.  Position requires non-standard work hours (nights and weekends).  Must be able to work flexible hours as required.
