Due to Federal,
State, and
Reinhardt policies &
regulations, financial aid can sometimes seem confusing. We receive the
following questions on a regular basis and have provided this for your
reference.
Yes. A qualified, full-time
student who is a Georgia resident and attends a private college in
Georgia is eligible for the Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant, GTEG, of
$550 per full time semester (12 credit hours). You become eligible for the HOPE
Scholarship once you have attained 3.00 grade-point average after
graduating a public high school. The HOPE
Scholarship Award is $1500 per full time semester. These amounts
are set by the Georgia State legislature and may be subject to change.
Transfer students should work with the office of records, registration
and advising to determine eligibility.

A student will pay the same tuition rate as
long as he or she is consecutively enrolled in an Advantage Program. The
program is designed to take 16 months to complete. If a student
withdraws and re-enters at a later date, he or she will be charged the
current tuition rate.

Students who are eligible for tuition
reimbursement from their employer must provide documentation at the
beginning of each term to confirm the amount the employer will pay. They
must also pay a deposit of $400 for seven or more hours or $250 for six
or fewer hours when they register for classes. Any additional amount not
covered by the employer should be paid by the students before the tuition
payments are due date. The students are requested to sign promissory notes,
including a Visa or MasterCard credit card number, for the remaining
amount covered by their employer.
Payment is due from the students for the
tuition reimbursement amount no later than three weeks from the end of
the term as specified in the Academic Calendar. Should the payment not
be received by that date, the credit card number will be automatically
charged for the balance due.
It is the students' responsibility to
provide documentation to their employers to facilitate reimbursement
in a timely manner. If further information regarding tuition
reimbursement is needed, please contact a
business office
representative at (770) 720-5520.

FAFSA stands for the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
It is a Federal application that determines eligibility at Reinhardt for
student loans, parent loans, FSEOG, Pell Grant, and work-study for
undergraduate students. The FAFSA is completed by providing information
obtained from federal tax forms from the previous year. See
Forms to access this online application
and see
Federal Aid for more information.

The U.S. Dept. of Education may select your FAFSA
for review in a process called verification. At that time, you will be
asked to submit tax returns and certain financial documents to the
Reinhardt Office of Student Financial Aid. You will not be eligible to
receive Federal student aid, including student and parent loans, until
the verification process is complete. You will be sent a "missing
information" letter that will list the documents you must submit to complete your
verification. See forms to access these
documents online, and be sure to select the correct school year as noted on
your missing information letter.

If loans are not appearing on your
online account or paper invoice, this can be for two reasons. The most
common reason is due to an incomplete or missing FAFSA,
loan application, entrance counseling,
and/or promissory note. To complete these requirements, see
forms. Students can access their Stafford
loan processing status online at www.gsfc.org. Once
there, click Scholarship Application Status/New Loan Disbursements.
Then, log in with a social security number and
date of birth. If your loan does not appear, please contact
the Office of Student Financial Aid at 770-720-5667 or
financialaid@reinhardt.edu.

To receive financial aid, a student must
be in classes for at least 16 weeks each semester. For financial aid
purposes, Session I and Session II classes within one semester are
counted together to be enrolled for enough weeks to be eligible for financial aid. Students
who are enrolled in only one of the two sessions within a semester will
not be enrolled for the 16 weeks needed to be eligible to receive any state or federal aid.
