Georgia Performance Standards Addressed by School Tours at the Funk Heritage Center

Geography

  • Topic: Physical Characteristics Human, Environment Interaction Region
    Standard: Examines how the natural resources and physical features influence human activity in each region of the United States.
    (Funk Heritage Center tours refer to resources in the Southeast that influenced the region's past inhabitants.)

Fine Arts

  • Topic: Critical Analysis and Aesthetic Understanding
    Standard: Critiques artworks in sequence of: description, analysis of design or a composition, interpretation of meaning, and judgment based on evidence/clues observed in artworks.

Language Arts

  • Topic: Listening/Speaking
    Standard: Responds to literal, inferential, and evaluative questions on orally presented material.

  • Topic: Listening/Speaking
    Standard: Listens and responds to a variety of literary forms including prose, poetry, and drama.
