Homer
Sewell, is a Jasper, GA resident and one of 100 Lincoln
impersonators in the country. He has spoken to 2 million people in
46 states in 28 years. He performed at Mount Rushmore and received
The Lincoln of the Year Award in Burbank, CA in 1999.
An author and motivational speaker,
Sewell said that
one of the quotes he lives by from Abe himself is this:
"I am not afraid to die,
and in fact would be more than willing, but I have an irresistible
desire to live until I can be assured that the world is a little
better from my having lived in it."
I try to live by that
too.
Following lunch, weather permitting, there will be a tour of a
historic log cabin in the Appalachian Settlement located behind the
museum. If you plan to visit the cabin, wear comfortable walking
shoes.
