Requirements for Initial Admission to the Master of Education in Special Education
 You are encouraged to apply early to the Master of Education in Special Education program offered by the Price School of Education at Reinhardt University.
New students start classes each fall; the next entry point will be August 2013.
To be considered for initial admission to Reinhardt University and the Master of Education in Special Education, M.Ed./SPED program, applicants must submit the documents listed below. The documents, or the forms that should accompany the submission, as well as an Initial Admissions Checklist, are included in the M.Ed. Admissions Packet:
When your M.Ed. application and all documentation are received, the M.Ed. Admissions Committee will evaluate your application.
- PSOE M.Ed. Application For Admission
Print, complete, and submit an Application for Admission. Submit the $25 application fee. (Two-page form is in the admissions packet.)
- Bachelor's Degree Transcript
Submit an official transcript that documents a baccalaureate education degree from an accredited institution with an undergraduate cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least a 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale).
- PSOE Candidate Professional Résumé
Submit résumé to provide documentation of education, teaching experience, volunteer and service accomplishments, and a record of leadership activities (must reflect ONE year of current full-time classroom experience). (Form is in the admissions packet.)
- PSOE M.Ed. Administrative Recommendation Form
Submit recommendation form from your current principal. (Two-page form is in the admissions packet.)
- PSOE Autobiographical Statement
Submit statement to provide documentation of your professional strengths, abilities, experiences, and career goals. (Form is in the admissions packet.)
- Copy of a GA Teaching Certificate in Special Education, General Curriculum K-12.
Submit proof of certification in Special Education, General Curriculum.
- PSOE Letter of Commitment
Submit a letter as a commitment to enter and complete the program within the two year, fall to spring period (must be employed as a classroom teacher or paraprofessional for the duration of the program). (Form is in the admissions packet.)
- Reinhardt University Registration Form
Submit signed registration form to officially register for M.Ed. classes. (Form is in the admissions packet.)
