helping others - a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. There
will be something for everyone, from helping out at local churches,
schools, or parks. The next event is Saturday, October 25, 2008.
Patricia A. Burris Walk Against Breast Cancer
The walk is a 15-hour relay with teams of 6-10 people walking around
the clock. Teams of students, faculty and staff collect donations
but they also sell items, from raffle tickets, snacks and T-shirts
to water bottles and pink roses, to raise money. The walkers are
treated to live music, contests, awards, prizes and an indoor
cinema. All funds are donated to the Emory Winship Cancer Institute.
Our next walk will be Friday, March 27 – Saturday, March 28, 2009.
