The Hiltonian, the official student newspaper of
Reinhardt College, is edited, managed, and written by Reinhardt
College students. The Hiltonian provides coverage of Reinhardt
events, as well as serving as a campus forum.
A college newspaper is more than a source of news. It is a forum
for public debate; it is the voice of the students amplified to
an audible pitch; it is anything and everything students try to
make it. All students are encouraged to show their interest and
support
Mission Statement
The purpose of the Hiltonian is to inform the students of events
occurring on campus and to provide students an opportunity to
express their opinions on pertinent issues.
Hiltonian Policies
The policy of the Hiltonian is to provide our students with
professionally supported training in newspaper-related areas and
to produce a high quality product people want to read. We offer
students hands-on training using state-of-the-art technology as
they prepare for careers in the media.
The emphasis is on STUDENTS at Reinhardt College. Reinhardt
College does not believe in censorship of any kind. We respect
and encourage our students to exercise their guaranteed rights
of free speech. Our students determine content, programming and
handle all matters relating to personnel. This privilege is
quickly tempered by the responsibility that goes along with work
in a public forum. Students rely on advisers, but advisers do
not preview student work. Instead, teaching and constructive
criticism come after publications and broadcasts.
