Conference/Summer Camp Staff
The Personal Touch: The College’s Conference & Summer Camp Program provides an experienced staff whose constant attention to detail will assist you in planning your program. Staff members will work with you from your initial contact with the College’s through completion of the conference. Offering a wide range of support services, conference personnel will coordinate your meeting, dining, and social schedules, providing an efficient use of facilities.
Every phase of planning is designed to meet your budget and scheduling requirements. A complete analysis by our staff, based on specific financial considerations, provides an accurate framework for building a successful program. Personal attention will be given to each aspect of your conference, including selection of audio/visual equipment, minus, residential facilities, and entertainment/recreation choices.
Facilities
The George M. Lawson Academic Center, the Fred H. and Mozelle Bates Tarpley Education Center and the Samuel C. Dobbs building contain classrooms, with each room seating about 30 people. There are some computer labs as well. Televisions, VCRs and Power Point capability is available.
The Floyd A. and Fay W. Falany Performing Arts Center contains classrooms, choral and instrumental rehearsal halls and studios as well as a concert hall seating 375 people. Special arrangements are required for use of this building.
The main gym is located in the James and Sis Brown Athletic Center. Recent renovations expanded the gym, doubling its seating capacity to 1000. Adjacent to the main gym is a practice gym located in the Joseph W. Baxter Recreation Center. The complex also houses two classrooms. In addition to these indoor amenities, a general recreational field and four tennis courts are available for outdoor fun.
Food Service
The W. Frank and Evelyn J. Gordy Center houses the main dining facility, which seats up to 300. Two small meeting rooms are on the second floor. The dining hall staff serves three meals daily and can also cater receptions, provide coffee breaks and snacks as well as cookouts to make your function a success.
Housing
Three residence halls, Cobb Hall, Herbert I. And Lilla W. Gordy Hall and Roberts Hall, accommodate 260 people in double occupancy rooms. We also offer apartment-style residence halls with 200 beds.
