Still Time to Start Reinhardt's Degree-Completion Programs in Business & Education This Spring in Epworth
You can still start classes in education and business this spring on the Bonnie Higdon Reeves campus in Epworth, Ga.! Call 770-720-9191 or 1-877-346-4273 to find out how. Saturday classes for the degree-completion programs in business and education offered by Reinhardt College will begin in January. Financial Aid Available to Qualified ApplicantsShirley Stanley, Appalachian Mountain Regional Campus Council president, stressed that all prospective students should make their interest known. Many applicants have had questions about costs, so Reinhardt will have financial aid counselors available to answer questions. Local scholarships are available for qualified applicants, as are other aid such at HOPE Scholarship, Pell Grants, and Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant. "The economy is such right now that there are a lot of people who are going to need significant financing to be able to do this," Stanley said. "There are probably going to be more students eligible for financial aid because they've lost their jobs. If we can get them to fill out the financial aid paperwork, they'll see that financial aid is there." Reinhardt President Dr. J. Thomas Isherwood enthusiastically agreed. "Frankly if you quality for Pell, and you are HOPE-eligible and a Georgia resident and get GTEG, you've just about got it covered," he said. The Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan, a Council member, also pointed out the advantages of convenience, less travel time and lower fuel costs.
On July 21, 2009, Stanley, Isherwood, Jordan and other representatives from Reinhardt and the Council gathered on Reinhardt's main campus in Waleska, Ga., to sign a formal agreement. All were excited about the number of students already registered, and they are hoping to sign up more. "This is an exciting beginning," Isherwood said. "It looks like the WAIT [education] program is doing quite well, and though the OML [business] program has not yet generated as much interest, we will start both programs in August, and we'll continue doing all we can to continue to generate interest and bring students to the center." Stanley agrees that interest will build. "In our community, once you get something started, and they see it's going to be there, they are going to come," she said, "but sometimes there is reluctance to start something new.
