Jose Resendiz '14 joins ranks with fellow 10 Under 10 award recipients

Jose Resendiz was named one of Reinhardt University’s 10 Under 10 for 2017 at the Homecoming Brunch held last month.

“The 10 Under 10 is an awards program we began to honor our alumni doing wonderful things in their 10 years since graduation,” said Tim Norton, vice president for advancement and marketing. “This year’s class is comprised of go-getters, philanthropists, and business and community leaders.”

Resendiz graduated in 2014 summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, and minors in Marketing and Advertising. While at Reinhardt, Jose was a Goizueta scholar. He also received his master's degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Currently working as a Graphic Design Associate with Advance Illinois, Resendiz designs publications and data visualization to help foster public understanding of the education system.

He is working toward his goal of one day giving back the same opportunities that higher education opened up for him. He has established a foundation in which the first $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in spring 2018 to a Cross Keys High School senior, with a Hispanic background, seeking a post-secondary education.

The 10 Under 10 is a group of Reinhardt University Alumni who are active in many communities throughout the world. Each year, Reinhardt recognizes distinguished alumni who exemplify the mission of our institution. The 10 under 10 award is given to a group of alumni who graduated within the last 10 years and are successful in business, the military, nonprofits, government, ministry and/or the arts. Their pictures hang in the Student Center as a reminder of how Reinhardt alumni make a difference.
