Alumni Board launches campaign to renovate Lawson Academic Center classrooms

By Drew Hulse

A fundraising effort focused on enriching students’ learning experience in 2018-19 -- and beyond -- has been launched by the Alumni Board of Governors.

The campaign seeks to raise $34,000 to $68,000 for a facelift including fresh paint, new carpet, contemporary seating, flat-screen HD televisions, new teaching computers and more for two classrooms in Lawson Academic Center.

Renovations will enhance two core academic classrooms used primarily for liberal arts and business courses.

“We are thankful for the leadership of our Alumni Board of Governors on this important fundraising project,” said University Provost Dr. Mark Roberts. “Renovating a classroom has a direct and immediate effect on the Reinhardt student experience.”

The Alumni Board of Governors is leading the renovation efforts as Reinhardt’s continued growth spurs demand for modern facilities.

“This is a way for Reinhardt alumni to contribute to a project that directly affects students’ academic experience and ensures they receive the quality education they need to not only be successful in their future career after their Reinhardt experience, but a contributing member of society in the community where they live,” said ABOG board member Ben Garrett ’92.

Installation will take place this summer and will not interfere with class activities. All renovations are projected for completion by fall semester.
