Day 1. May 10: Depart for Athens.

Day 2. May 11: Arrive Athens and check into hotel. Walk around the Athens Plaka. Group dinner in Athens provided.

DAY 3. May 12: Visit the Acropolis and Acropolis museum.

Day 4. May 13: Day excursion to the archaeological site at Delphi and the Delphi Museum.

Day 5. May 14: Day excursion to the Classical Greek Amphitheater in Epidaurus, Archaeological site at Mycenae and the tholos tomb with lunch provided.

Day 6. May 15: Fly from Athens to Heraklion, Crete. Check into hotel and then have an orientational walk around the city of Heraklion and excursion to Heraklion Historical Musem.

Day 7. May 16: Excursion to the Archaeological Site at Knossos followed by visit to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum.

Day 8. May 17: Day Excursion to pottery village of Margarites to work in the Keramion Pottery studio with potter George Dalamvelas. Late lunch then return to Heraklion.

Day 9. May 18: Excursion to Phaistos and Gortyna.

Day 10. May 19: Travel to Ierapetra via Agios Nikolaos for short walking excursion in the town followed by lunch and then an excursion to Mallia Archaeological site*. Check in to hotel followed by orientation

walk through of the city of Ierapetra. Dinner at Napoleon Taverna provided.

Day 11. May 20: Free Day.

Day 12. May 21: Day trip to Toplou Monastery via Sitita Archaeological Museum.

Day 13. May 22: Plein air watercolor demonstration/instructional session with Christopher Wright at Tholos Beach. Lecture/Discussion: “History of Watercolor” followed by dinner in the traditional village of Monastiraki.

Day 14. May 23: Tour of INSTAP-SCEC [ Institute for Aegean Prehistory Study Center for East Crete] with Doug Faulmann who is head of Illustration and Architectural Study at the center. Following the tour we will visit the archaeological site of Gournia.

Day 15. May 24: Raku pottery firing demonstration with Nikos Makrinakis in Myrsini followed by lunch in Myrsini.*

Day 16 May 25: Excursion to Mochlos and Mochlos Island Archaeological site. Lunch.

Day 17. May 26: Travel to Heraklion airport for return to Athens. Check into hotel. Last night dinner in Plaka.

Day 18. May 27: Fly back to Atlanta.
