Artress Bethany White is a poet, essayist, and literary critic, and most recently, the recipient of the 2018 Trio Award for her poetry collection, My Afmerica, published in 2019 by Trio House Press. Her other collection of poems, Fast Fat Girls in Pink Hot Pants, was published in 2012 by Aldabra Press. Her work has appeared in Ecotone, Poet Lore, The Account, Harvard Review, The New GuardBlood Orange Review, and The Hopkins Review. With degrees from Amherst University (B.A.), New York University (M.F.A.), a she also earned a PhD. from the University of Kentucky. Currently the poetry faculty for the Rosemont College Summer Writers' Retreat in Pennsylvania, she is the recipient of the Mary Hambidge Distinguished Fellowship from the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and The Mona Van Duyn Scholarship in Poetry from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and writing residencies at The Writer’s Hotel and the Tupelo Press/MASS MoCA studios. Survivor’s Guilt: Essays on Race and American Identity, a collection of essays, is forthcoming from New Rivers Press/Minnesota State University in March 2020.​
