Jeff Holt ’05 originally applied to Reinhardt to play golf and found an enriching educational experience that went beyond the golf course.

The opportunities Holt found at Reinhardt through athletics and student leadership diversified his college experience and education.

“These different opportunities to be involved with different teams were some of the best—and most educational—I had during my time at Reinhardt.”

Holt served as vice president and chief of staff on the Student Government Association Executive Board. He also got involved as an orientation leader and served as a student representative on a committee that drafted an updated honor code.

Golf initiated his decision to attend Reinhardt, and the small class sizes, personal connections with faculty and staff and leadership opportunities proved to foster an atmosphere that promoted growth.

“I was able to do more in four-and-a-half years at Reinhardt than I think it would be possible to do in a larger university setting.”

After playing for the men’s golf team as an Eagle, golf continued to play a part of Holt’s career when he worked for the Atlanta Junior Golf Association, a local nonprofit. Holt made a career change when he became an attorney, but he still golfs when he gets the chance.

Holt studied business management and sport administration, while finding particular interest in subjects like history and accounting. Currently, he works as a business attorney in Peachtree City to help his clients form business entities, buy and sell businesses, and negotiate contracts. He also works with employment law, estate planning and commercial real estate. While at a large Atlanta law firm for five years, Holt served as a judicial law clerk for Judge R. Lanier Anderson III on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals for a year.

“I recently started working with a smaller law firm closer to home and have enjoyed being more involved with my family and the local business community,” said Holt.

During his free time, Holt likes scuba diving and hiking, and spending time with his three children, Tucker, Connor and Suzy. He enjoys watching and participating in activities they enjoy, including coaching Tucker’s basketball team.

Holt also stays active with his Reinhardt family, as he currently serves on the President’s Advisory Council.

“It’s been great to watch Reinhardt continue to grow and succeed in so many different ways.”
