Alumni After Hours event comes to Rome Feb. 28

Reinhardt University’s Alumni Association is in full gear this year with events planned for networking, reminiscing, having fun and giving back, including a Rome, Ga.-area Alumni & Friends After Hours event on Feb. 28, from 4-6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, located at 202 East 3rd Avenue.

Together with two Rome members of the Reinhardt University Board of Trustees, Raymond H. Cox, an attorney in the firm Cox, Byington, Twyman & Johnson, LLP, and veterinarian Dr. Richard L. Dixon, several area alumni are assisting in planning for the event.

“Reinhardt University is doing some really remarkable things, and we want our friends in the Rome area to learn more directly from President Kina Mallard whose vision is moving in great new directions,” said Mr. Cox.

“One of the great initiatives underway at Reinhardt is the addition of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, which is accepting students into the nursing program now,” said Dr. Dixon. “With an ever-growing need for additional nurses in northwest Georgia, we are extremely proud to be opening this new School later this year.”

President Kina S. Mallard came to Reinhardt almost two years ago and is moving the University to embrace a vision to be a place “where each student thrives,” reported Mallard. “I hope to see many alumni and friends at these events where we can learn from each other about how to make Reinhardt University better as we seek to serve all of northwest Georgia and beyond.”

Representatives of Reinhardt’s Admission Office will be on hand to talk to students, parents and guidance counselors from area schools about programs in any of its six schools: Arts and Humanities, Business, Education, Mathematics and Sciences, Nursing and Health Sciences and Performing Arts.

The event is free and open to all Reinhardt alumni and friends of the University. For information, contact Pat Patton at (770) 720-5507 or SSP@reinhardt.edu.
