Don Barbour, regional director of external affairs for AT&T, presents a $1,000 check to Reinhardt University president, Dr. Kina Mallard, right, and Dale Morrissey, director of development and external relations for Reinhardt University. The donation was made to the ADay for Reinhardt scholarship program.

For more than 20 years, business and community leaders have been showing their support for scholarships at Reinhardt University, giving students a leg up in their post-secondary education.

This year is no different, and the AT&T Foundation has stepped up once again with a donation to ensure a local resident gets the help he/she needs to attend Reinhardt. Don Barbour, regional director of external affairs for AT&T, presented the check to Dr. Kina S. Mallard, Reinhardt President, and Dale Morrissey, director of development and external relations for Reinhardt University.

“As strong supporters of both K-12 and higher education, AT&T Georgia is proud to support Reinhardt’s ADay program and the scholarships that the program provides to deserving Cherokee County high school students,” Barbour said. “This support will enable many students to continue their education.”

Mallard said each gift to Reinhardt is a gift to the students to help them further their educations and to give them a brighter future.

“Each gift toward our scholarship funds helps students achieve their educational dreams. We appreciate Mr. Barbour and AT&T’s continued support of education and ADay for Reinhardt,” Mallard said.

ADay for Reinhardt is an annual community initiative that generates grants for Cherokee County students attending Reinhardt University. ADay underwrites the University’s Cherokee County Grant program, which provides eligible students with as much as $8,000 during their four years at the University. Since 1988 ADay for Reinhardt has raised more than $3.5 million in financial assistance for local students.
